Really impressive causal analysis of this paper showing better outcomes for black infants cared for by black physicians. When I read it a few days ago, I wanted to diagram it in the target trial fashion, but could never have gotten near this analysis.

This thread is vital reading! ➡️
It's incredible to see the amount of effort you put into such tweetorials @EpiEllie! To read the paper, construct each DAG & put together such a long thread with memes... Wow! Take a bow!
I want to talk about an important new study on racial disparities in infant survival, from @RRHDr & colleagues. The tl;dr: Black infants in the US are less likely to die when they have a Black pediatrician vs a white pediatrician. https://t.co/uLfoMR
@tage_rai You’re not actually disagreeing with my claim. The authors even agree with this claim (see next tweet in thread). You’re saying despite the absence of a mechanism, it’s still useful to understand overall patterns. We agree on this. https://t.co/

Striking findings from a new report by researchers from George Mason University: Black newborn babies are more likely to survive childbirth if cared for by black doctors, but 3x more likely than White Babies to die when looked after by White doctors. https
