People who are usually thoughtful dismiss this very important study. This thread powerfully engages and rebuts the common arguments people have made. Minds might still not be changed, b/c they don't want the finding to be true. That doesn't make it so.
I wish this weren’t true...and so easy to believe. Racism needn’t be labeled as such to be deadly. If you treat someone differently bc of your perception of their appearance, your likely a racist. And a menace to your patient.

Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences found that Black babies were three times more likely to die in the hospital than white newborns when cared for by white doctors. When Black doctors cared for Black babies, the mortality rate was cut in half.
